after 1746 Wroclaw (Breslau) Poland. Son of Sebastian Rauch (I). Assumed to be a pupil of Thomas Edlinger. Moved from Prague to Wroclaw c.1737. Early work much in the style of Edlinger. Thomas Born 1702, Worked Prague Czech Republic, d. after 1746 Wroclaw (Breslau) Poland. Son of Sebastian Rauch (I). Assumed to be a pupil of Thomas Edlinger. Moved from Prague to Wroclaw c.1737. Early work much in the style of Edlinger. Stainer model. High arched with very dark red-brown varnish. Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+
Sohn von Seb. Rauch in Prag und vielleicht ein Schüler seines Taufpathen Thomas Edlinger, an den seine besseren Arbeiten erinnern. Er hatte ein eigenes, hochgewölbtes Modell und verwendete einen jetzt sehr dunkel aussehenden Lack. Arbeit, Holz und Ton sind recht gut. In Breslau ist er schon 1737 nachzuweisen. Eine sehr schöne, an Tielke’s Arbeiten erinnernde Viola d’ amore mit geschnitztem Köpfchen befindet sich in Paul de Wit’s musikhistorischem Museum in Leipzig.
