Er gehört zu den besseren vogtländischen Meistern seiner Zeit. In den Umrissen nähert er sich italienischen Vorbildern. Der Lack ist dünn und über einer Beize aufgetragen, das Deckenholz gut, der Bassbalken gewöhnlich mit der Decke aus einem Stück. Weniger schön ist das Holz zum Boden. Die Schnecke ist gut geschnitten, hat aber wenig Schwung.
