Er gilt für einen Sohn von Christian R. und konnte auch dessen Schüler gewesen sein. Seine Arbeit ist nicht schlecht, das Modell aber nicht schön und der Lack ohne Glanz und Feuer. Er erreichte ein Alter von 54 Jahren 8 Monaten und 7 Tagen. Ein anderer Johann R. wird schon 1697 und noch 1727 im Zunftbuch erwähnt.
