Er war fleissig und geschickt. Die Chronik nennt ihn ausdrücklich Geigenmacher und Meister gelegentlich des Berichts, dass am 15. Juli 1750 sein vierjähriges Töchterchen in den Bach fiel und ertrank. Er erreichte ein Alter von 56 Jahren 6 Monaten und 23 Tagen.
