REMÉNYI, Mihály Born 1867, died 1939 Budapest Hungary. Apprenticed to E. Bartek 1881; subsequently with G. Tanczer. Qualified as a luthier 1885, and employed by A. Ferenczy from 1889 and P. Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+
Schüler von Georg Tánczer begründete, nachdem er sieben Jahre bei verschiedenen Meistern seine Ausbildung vollendet hatte, im Jahre 1890 sein eigenes Geschäft. Er besitzt bereits eine Anzahl von Ausstellungsmedaillen und Anerkennungsschreiben. Seine Geigen macht er nach J. Guarneri und Stradivari. Bei neuen Geigen verwendet er Ö-, bei Reparaturen Spirituslack. Seine Arbeit ist auch an dem Bassbalken, dem er eine etwas veränderte Form und eine vom gewöhnlichen abweichende Lage giebt, zu erkennen, wobei er auf »Eintheilung der Spannkraft« besonderes Gewicht legt. Seine Erfindung sind die Geigenkasten aus Aluminium.
