Jean Mathurin Born 1770, died 1854 Paris. Son, pupil, and successor of Mathurin-François, below. Established at 30 rue de Grenelle-Saint-Honoré from 1817. Son of Mathurin François Remy; b. 1770, Paris; d. 1854. His work was of much the same merit and type as his father’s. He used oil varnish. He removed from rue Tiquetonne to 30, rue de Grenelle – Saint Honore, about 1817, and remained there for thirty-seven years. His two sons were both violin makers.

Sohn, Schüler und Nachfolger von Math. Franz R. Im Jahre 1817 verlegte er seine Werkstatt in die Rue de Grenelle-Saint-Honoré No. 30. Seinen Vater übertraf er in mancher Hinsicht: er war sorgfältiger in der Wahl des Holzes; auch sein Lack ist besser. Seine beiden Söhne wurden Geigenmacher.
