Son and pupil of Nicola Rossi, below. Established in the Contrada San Mattia alla Moneta. Specialist in double basses, but also made violins, violas, and cellos, as well as various plucked instruments. Good work with rather thin red spirit varnish. Branded: ‘Rossi G. Milano’ — John Dilworth

Ein in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts thätiger, tüchtiger Bassmacher. Seine Geigen sind weniger gut, doch war er als sorgfältiger Reparateur berühmt.

Milan. 19th century. Perhaps son and pupil of Nic. Rossi. Good workmanship; particularly the ‘celli and contrabasses. He applied, in thin coats, a red varnish. He was an expert at repairing.
