Vielleicht ein Sohn oder Enkel von Joh. H. R. Ein fleissiger aber sehr handwerksmässig arbeitender Geigenmacher. Seine Instrumente sind flach gewölbt und stark im Ton. Man rühmte sie wegen ihrer »Leichtigkeit«; diese stammt aber daher, dass er die Zargen nicht bereifte, die Klötzchen in den Ecken fehlen liess etc. Er wechselte übrigens Patron und Wölbung sehr oft. Sein Lack ist von schwarzbrauner Farbe.
