Ernest André Born 1842 Mirecourt, died 1897 Moscow Russia. Son and pupil of François Salzard, below. Worked in Paris from 1858 and from 1860 in St Petersburg. Established in Moscow 1864. Appointed luthier to the imperial court, opera house, and conservatoire. A quartet of his remains in the Moscow Collection.

Schüler seines Vaters François S. Im Jahre 1858 kam er nach Paris, ging 1860 auf drei Jahre nach St. Petersburg und liess sich dann in Moskau als Geigenmacher nieder, wo er schon ein Jahr später zum Geigenmacher des Conservatoriums ernannt wurde. Er war in ganz Russland als tüchtiger Meister und feiner Kenner anerkannt und ebnete seinen französischen Kunstgenossen den Weg nach Russland. Sein Nachfolger wurde Spidlen.
