Brescia. Born Sept. 25, 1803, d. Apr. 7, 1870, built of good wood low-arched instruments with wide purfling, large scrolls, and applied a good red varnish. He made violins, violas, ‘cellos, guitars and mandolins. The best of them, both in shape and tone, are his ‘cellos. His successors were his sons Giuseppe and Stephano, also good masters.
