SEGHER, Girolamo (Guggemos) Born 1646 Füssen Germany, Worked Padua & Cremona Italy. Pupil of Nicolò Amati 1680-1682. Listed on the Cremonese census return as ‘from Padua’. Possibly went there from Füssen to work in one of the lute workshops already established by Füssen-born craftsmen, including the Railich family; Jacob Reilic (or Railich) was another of Amati’s workmen in this period.
