Giorgio Sellas (Seelos)

The Sellas name is an Italianisation of the German Seelos, and Matteo was the son of Michael Seelos of Füssen. Established in Venice c.1590 at the shop sign ‘alla Stella‘. Vielleicht ein Angehöriger der Familie Seelos (s. d.). Baron schreibt (1727) über diesen Lautenmacher nur : »Georgius sella alla Stella lebte Anno 1624 in Venedig.« — Wenn hier kein Irrthum bezüglich des Taufnamens mit untergelaufen ist, dann haben wir vielleicht den Vater von Matteo Sellas (»alla Corona«) vor uns. Georgius S. wird übrigens auch von Valdrighi (No. 2918) angeführt.
