A maker of lutes at Venice in the 17th century. In the Liceo Comunale di Musica, Bologna was a lute with the inscription ” Magno Stegher in Venetia “

Der Name kommt in allerlei Entstellungen vor, als Segher, Stegner und selbst Stregner. In einer Mandola in Berlin (kgl. Sammlung No. 731) und in einer Laute im Liceo comun. di Musica in Bologna liest man jedoch deutlich Stegher. Er machte ausser Lauten auch gute Bassviolen.
