Er dürfte aus Strassburg stammen und ist nach Piegendorfer von 1750 bis 1780 in Augsburg nachweisbar. Er arbeitete nach dem Stainer-Modell und verwendete gutes Holz und verschiedenartigen Lack. Am besten gelangen ihm Violen, deren Ton recht gut ist, während seine Violinen in dieser Beziehung zu wünschen übrig lassen.
