Instruments reported to have the names of more illustrious makers inserted, but by whose hand cannot be said, although most sources name Arnoldi himself as the culprit. Lebet reports that he also made harpsichords. Henley has him listed twice, as ‘Arlodi’ \u{2026} — John Dilworth

ARNOLDI, Carlo Born circa. 1764, Worked Anagni & c.1790-1810 Rome Italy. Ordinary workmanship. Instruments reported to have the names of more illustrious makers inserted, but by whose hand cannot be said, although most sources name Arnoldi himself as the culprit. Lebet reports that he also made harpsichords. Henley has him listed twice, as ‘Arlodi’ and ‘Arnoldi, Carlo’ of Rome given slightly earlier dates. Lebet follows this.
