WILD, Ernest E. Born 1908, Worked Billings, Montana, Worked from 1956 San Francisco, California USA. Violinist. Violin maker and repairer active in Billings before moving to San Francisco c.1956. Worked for John Chapman before establishing his own business 1960-1983. Completed about 15 instruments on Stradivari and Guarneri models. Own golden-brown or red-brown oil varnish. Later used a red spirit varnish. [Wenberg]
