A maker in Paris in 1749. In 1759 there was in the Savoye Collection a small six-stringed viol, beautifully made, with double purfling and yellow-coloured varnish, the head ornamented with carving. It was labelled: “J. M Wolters fecit Lutetiae Parisiorum, au faubourg Saint-Antoine, Paris, 1749.”

Geschickter Geigenmacher deutscher Abstammung, von dem Vidal eine gute Viola d’amore mit gelbem Lack bekannt wurde. In der Sammlung Savoye befand sich 1759 eine kleine, sechssaitige Viola von schöner Arbeit, doppelt eingelegt, ebenfalls mit gelbem Lack.
