Die Mittenwalder Familie Wörnle scheint eigentlich Wörle geheissen zu haben; doch herrscht die Schreibart Wörnle so sehr vor, dass sie zuletzt allein Geltung erlangte. Franz W. war ein angesehener, wohlhabender Mann, der später nach Freising zog und dort zum Bürgermeister erwählt wurde. Seine Geigen haben mittlere und flache Wölbung, gelben Lack und sind recht gut ausgearbeitet.
