Studied at the Mittenwald school of violin making. Later worked for Sprenger in Stuttgart and Lemböck in Vienna. Took over the business of F. Ranftler in Munich 1888. ZUNTERER, Anton Born 1858 Mittenwald, died 1917 Munich Germany. Studied at the Mittenwald school of violin making. Later worked for Sprenger in Stuttgart and Lemböck in Vienna. Took over the business of F. Ranftler in Munich 1888. Appointed luthier to the Bavarian Court. Succeeded by his son, also Anton. Stradivari and Guarneri models using both oil and spirit varnish. Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+

Erhielt seine Ausbildung in der Geigenbauschule zu Mittenwald, arbeitete dann bei A. Sprenger in Stuttgart und G. Lemböck in Wien, sowie bei F. Ranftler in München, dessen Nachfolger er 1888 wurde. Er macht neue Geigen nach den Modellen von Stradivari und Guarneri und verwendet je nach Bedarf Öl- oder Spirituslack und ist Hoflieferant.
