BAUR, Martin Born 1793 Windratzhofen, d.c.1875 Stuttgart Germany. Stationed in Stuttgart during military service. Acquired a knowledge of lutherie from Thumhardt in Munich and established his shop in Stuttgart in 1824. Fine work in the French manner. Also made good bows.
