BELLONE, Pietro Antonio Worked circa. 1684-1699 Milan Italy. Known as ‘il Pescorino’. Rare maker, Henley describes him as belonging to the Brescian school, largely because of the full arching and large soundholes. An example in the Schambach Collection, Yale University, has inlaid mother of pearl discs all around the edges. Scroll is small and quite delicate. Golden-brown varnish.
