Son of Jehanne Blaise, above. Worked in London, then for the Silvestre Brothers in Lyons. Established at Geneva from 1855. Some good quality work in classical style produced in early years, but subsequently returned to the commercial Mirecourt model. His name is found in a lot of cheaper factory mad\u{2026} — John Dilworth

BLAISE, Jules Born 1820 Mirecourt France, died 1882 Geneva Switzerland. Son of Jehanne Blaise, above. Worked in London, then for the Silvestre Brothers in Lyons. Established at Geneva from 1855. Some good quality work in classical style produced in early years, but subsequently returned to the commercial Mirecourt model. His name is found in a lot of cheaper factory made work. Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+

Er kam um 1855 aus Mirecourt nach Genf, nachdem er vorher eine Zeit
lang bei den Brüdern Silvestre in Lyon gearbeitet hatte. Er gab den Geigenbau
bald auf und beschränkte sich mehr und mehr auf den Verkauf von Mirecourter
Fabrikwaaren, die er oft mit seinem Zettel versah. Auch als Reparateur
war er ohne Bedeutung.
