BRODERIP, Robert Born 1750, Worked 1775-1805 London UK. Commercial dealer in London. Joined the business of Longman and Lukey in 1775. The following year Lukey left, and many instruments thereafter branded ‘Longman & Broderip’ on the upper back, supplied by outside workers such as Henry Jay. The business was located at 26 Cheapside until 1798, at 13 Haymarket from 1782 to c.1805, and Margate and Brighton 1789. At the Haymarket, Broderip was joined by Wilkinson, and some instruments are found with the brand ‘Broderip & Wilkinson / no.13 Haymarket / London’.
