DVORÁK, Jaroslav Antonin Born 1861, died 1921 Prague Czech Republic Son and pupil of Jan Baptista Dvorák, above. Independently established in Prague from 1885. Won several medals and diplomas. Stradivari and Guarneri models; very well executed. Good varnish; very brightly coloured, laid over a yellow ground and often shaded. First class materials. Nachdem er zuerst das Gymnasium besucht hatte, wurde er Schüler seines
Vaters J. B. Dv., bei dem er, von einigen Reisen unterbrochen, über 10 Jahre
thätig war. Am 4. Mai 1885 eröffnete er seine eigene Werkstatt, und es gelang
ihm bald, Anerkennung zu finden. Er baut nach Stradivari und Guarneri, ist
ein geschickter Reparateur und besitzt bereits verschiedene Staatsmedaillen und
andere Auszeichnungen. Er arbeitet sauber und verwendet das beste Holz. Auch bei seinen Fachgenossen steht er in Ansehen und wurde 1895 in den Vorstand der Prager Musikinstrumentenmacher-Genossenschaft gewählt.
