Son of Albert Ellersieck, above. Apprenticed to Ernest Kreul in Markneukirchen 1900-1903. Later worked for Otto Möckel and August Friedel in Berlin, and finally for Hjorth in Copenhagen. ELLERSIECK, Helmuth Born 1886 Rostock, Germany died 1973 Laguna Beach, California USA. Son of Albert Ellersieck, above. Apprenticed to Ernest Kreul in Markneukirchen 1900-1903. Later worked for Otto Möckel and August Friedel in Berlin, and finally for Hjorth in Copenhagen. Took over the workshop of Rummelhof-Hansen in Oslo 1914. Emigrated to the USA 1927, settled in Los Angeles, and retired to Laguna Beach c.1956. Business taken over by O. Lyngaas. Stradivari and Guarneri models. Orange oil varnish. Very skilful maker. Also celebrated for repair and restoration work. Branded beneath the button: ‘H. Ellersieck’
