FENDT, Francis (Frank) Born before 1815 London, d. after 1856 Liverpool UK. Son of Bernhard S. Fendt (I), above. Assisted Bernard S. (II), but is later found working in Liverpool, possibly as an employee of the Palmer Bothers, successors to James and Henry Banks, in ‘a very precarious existence’ according to Sandys & Forster. A note in the Hill Archive states that he continued to make instruments even when confined to bed with consumption and placed his instruments inside the chimney breast to brown before varnishing.
