Schüler von Arnould in Mirecourt und Methfessel in Bern. Nachdem er
ausgelernt hatte, arbeitete er noch in Mirecourt, 4 Jahre in Paris, 2 Jahre bei
Hill & Sons in London, als deren Schüler er sich hauptsächlich betrachtet. Er
kam hierauf am 1. Januar 1896 nach Strassburg, wo er sich seitdem dauernd
niederliess, da dort seit längerer Zeit kein Geigenmacher mehr ansässig war.
Er hat eine tüchtige Schule durchgemacht, und seine Geigen zeichnen sich durch
grosse Sorgfalt der Arbeit aus, Er copirt hauptsächlich Stradivari, verwendet
einen orangegelben Öllack und gilt als sehr talentvoll.
