Some instruments of lesser quality with painted purfling, and occasionally imitation figure painted onto the back beneath the varnish. Sohn und Schüler von Christian Gl. Er war der Schwiegersohn eines
Bergmanns, der sich 1799 auf das Bogenmachen verlegte und in Klingenthal
die ersten Bögen machte. Glass wurde sein Schüler und vervollkommnete sich
dann später noch, so dass er als der Begründer der Bogenmacherei in Klingenthal
angesehen werden kann. Brandmarke: Chr. F. Glass.
