Son of Joseph Anton Haff (I), above. Established in Munich 1894, then Senftenau, Bodensee, and finally Stuttgart, where he worked for Fridolin Hamma. Classical models, particularly Amati. HAFF, Joseph Anton (II) Born circa. 1835 Pfronten, Ausburg, died 1902 Stuttgart Germany. Son of Joseph Anton Haff (I), above. Established in Munich 1894, then Senftenau, Bodensee, and finally Stuttgart, where he worked for Fridolin Hamma. Classical models, particularly Amati. Accurate and finely-finished work. Well designed and carved scrolls. Several medals won at exhibitions. Work made for Hamma inscribed within: ‘in München für die Firma Hamma & co gemacht’. Printed label: Hamma & Co. Sohn von Joseph Anton sen., der um 1875 von Augsburg fortgezogen ist
und (1895) noch am Bodensee lebte. Talentvoller Nachahmer der italienischen
Meister, erhielt 1873 die Verdienst-Medaille für ein Streichquartett und eine
Geige nach Amati von trefflicher Arbeit und schönem Ton. Im Jahre 1894 siedelte er von München nach Senftenau bei Lindau über und soll später nach Stuttgart gezogen sein, ist aber auch dort nicht geblieben.
