Sohn von George I. H. Nachdem er in Paris seine Ausbildung als Geigenmacher abgeschlossen hatte, trat er in das Geschäft seines Vaters ein und fügte demselben eine eigene Werkstatt hinzu. Die Firma lautete von da an »Hart & Son« und lautet noch so. G. II. Hart gilt als tüchtiger Meister, dessen Specialität die getreue Copie italienischer Geigen ist.
