Schüler seines Oheims Christian H., übernahm 1871 das Geschäft seines
Lehrers und macht neue Geigen nach Stradivari. Er wendet Spirituslack an,
ist aber hauptsächlich Reparateur und erfand Federzwingen (für Geigenmacher),
mittels welcher ein gleichmässiger Druck beim Zuleimen der Geigen erreicht
wird. Er erhielt 1887 in Krakau die broncene und
1894 in Lemberg die goldene Medaille.
