Life
Worked in Amsterdam during the twentieth century, producing violins, violas and cellos inspired by classical Italian models, especially those of Stradivari and Guarneri. His instruments are noted for careful workmanship, good materials and clear golden to reddish-brown varnish. He was also active in restoration and repair, and his work is regarded as a representative example of the modern Dutch violin-making tradition.
