Schüler von E. Reinhold Schmidt in Markneukirchen, arbeitete längere Zeit
in Berlin und Budapest und ging dann zu seiner weiteren Ausbildung nach
Italien, wo er hauptsächlich bei Degani blieb und viel gelernt hat. Im Jahre 1897 machte
er sich in Wildstein selbstständig. Er baut nach italienischen und eigenen Modellen, letztere zwischen Stradivari und Amati liegend (über Form). Er verwendet Spiritus- und
Öllack und trifft namentlich die Farbe italienischer Meister sehr gut.
