HOPF, Caspar Born 1650 Kraslice (Graslitz) Czech Republic, died 1711 Stolberg Germany. Founder of the Klingenthal school c.1681 and regarded as the best maker of the family. Large model; typically square outline form, with high arch, particularly on the front; also of somewhat square section.

Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+

Er stammte aus Graslitz und soll zuerst in Klingenthal ansässig gewesen
sein. Im Jahre 1690 war er neben Georg Poller, Casp. Schönfelder und den
beiden Reichel einer der Vormeister der Neukirchner Geigenmacherzunft.
