KLOTZ, Hans Born 1906 Mittenwald, Worked circa. 1927 Munich Germany. Studied at the Mittenwald School under A. Sprenger, later worked for E. Gärtner in Stuttgart. Established independently there 1936. Spent seven years as a prisoner of war and returned to Stuttgart 1948. Completed 130 violins, seven violas, and seven cellos. Fine varnishes, both oil and spirit; red-brown shades. Workmanship much in the style of his masters.
