Er stammt aus dem Vogtlande und liess sich um 1875 in Bremen nieder,
wo er als solider Geigenmacher gilt. Er hat dort die älteste noch bestehende
Geigenhandlung und wird auch als guter Reparateur geschätzt, ist aber jetzt
durch Alter und Kränklichkeit verhindert, viel zu schaffen.
