Schüler seines Vaters Th.-Edouard L. Nach einer fünfzehnjährigen Studienzeit
machte er sich am 18. August 1898 in Paris selbstständig, wo er Jules
Delépierre’s Werkstatt übernahm, und arbeitet nach französischen und italienischen
Modellen , besonders nach Guarneri , Violinen und Violoncelli. Er hat seine
eigene Art, den Bassbalken anzubringen, und rühmt dieser besondere Erfolge
nach. Auch seine Mandolinen sind in Musikerkreisen geschätzt. Im Jahre
1900 erhielt er auf der Pariser Weltausstellung eine goldene Medaille.
