John Dilworth+

He was a native of Aberdeenshire, and a trained millwright by trade. His instruments are well-finished, and possess a firm and ringing tone.

Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+

Er war gelernter Mühlenbauer und war zuletzt Verwalter der Holzabtheilung
des Umpherston-Werks in Leith. Als solcher benutzte er jede Gelegenheit, zum
Geigenmachen geeignetes Holz ausfindig zu machen. Er machte viele und gute
Violinen, Violen und Violoncelli und auch eine Viola d’ amore. Seinen Öllack bereitete er sich selbst. Seine letzten Lebensjahre wurden durch ein unheilbares Leiden getrübt, das er mit Geduld ertrug.
