Claude (II) Born circa. 1575, Worked 1604-1648. Important early member of the Lorraine school of violin making. Possibly the pupil of Tywersus of Nancy. Father of eight sons who are recorded as luthiers.
Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+
Wahrscheinlich ein Sohn von Claude I. (dessen Beruf noch nicht feststeht),
der vor 1597 starb, und der Jeanne Drouyn (die sich später mit Blaise Thiébault
vermählt). Er wird in einem Document vom 28. October 1620 als »menuissier«
bezeichnet, sonst als luthier und hatte viele (10) Kinder und dürfte nach A. Jacquots
Meinung unzweifelhaft als das Oberhaupt der zahlreichen Geigenmacherfamilie
Médard angesehen werden.
