Als Violenmacher war er recht geschätzt. Musiklehrer Himmel in Lahr besass 1861 ein sehr gutes Cello von 1743 von ihm, aus dem selben Jahre ein gleiches auch Romer in Freiburg. Eine Viola von ihm besitzt Jacquot in Nancy.
