Noted guitar virtuoso. Established a workshop in Cento for guitar making 1910 and began making violins there also from 1917. Followed a Guadagnini model for violins, violas, and cellos with dark red varnish. None of very great quality or integrity. MOZZANI, Luigi Born 1869 Faenza, died 1943 Bologna Italy. Noted guitar virtuoso. Established a workshop in Cento for guitar making 1910 and began making violins there also from 1917. Followed a Guadagnini model for violins, violas, and cellos with dark red varnish. None of very great quality or integrity. Guitars and particularly the popular lyre-guitars of the period show greater workmanship. Moved to Bologna 1927. Several of his instruments are maintained at the Pieve di Centro School of Lutherie.
