NACE, Orlando Pearl Born 1887 Johnson County, d. after 1984 Independence, Missouri USA. Active in Independence from c.1920. Musician and piano tuner. Guided as violin maker by Joseph Geiger. About 80 violins on Stradivari models. Clear varnish over dark stained wood. Various local species of wood used; sometimes pre-cut necks. Claimed to be the oldest person to make a violin, completing his last work at the age of 97. [Wenberg]
