Der Name wird auch manchmal „Nägele« geschrieben. Seine Arbeit sieht
der von Wagner nicht unähnlich. Eine ziemlich gute Violine von ihm befindet sich im Germanischen Museum in Nürnberg. Auch sollen noch verschiedene Bässe von ihm in Kirchen des Bodenseekreises vorhanden sein.
