A maker in Paris about 1660 – 80, who was mentioned in 1680 as being ” one of the most clever of the honorable luthiers of Paris.” In a little pocket violin, with carved head, inlaid purfling, and yellow varnish, was the MS. label- “Jacques Quinot a Paris, 1670.”

Richelet bezeichnet ihn 1680 als einen der geschicktesten und am meisten
geschätzten Pariser Geigenmacher. In der Sammlung Loup befand sich eine
lange, rebekartige Taschengeige mit geschnitztem Köpfchen und gelbem Lack von 1670. Der Name fand sich auch eingebrannt.
