ADAM, Jean (I) Born 1767, died 1849 Mirecourt France. Bow maker. Founder of a significant dynasty of Mirecourt archetiers. From the evidence of his work, it is assumed he had some contact with Charles Tourte, and later worked with his son Jean Dominique. Generally octagonal sticks, branded: ADAM [Millant/Raffin]
