Er steht jedenfalls in keiner Beziehung zu der Tyroler Familie gleichen Namens, könnte aber mit Paolo A. verwandt gewesen sein. Geigen von ihm zeigen gewöhnlich ein grosses Patron und haben einen sehr schönen röthlichen Lack. Ihres starken, oft edlen Tons wegen dürfen sie als vorzügliche Orchesterinstrumente gelten.
