ANDERSON, John (I) Born circa. 1835 Keith, died 1883 Aberdeen, Scotland UK. Established his own shop in St Nicholas Lane, Aberdeen in 1881, two years before his death.

Willibald Leo Lütgendorff+

Schüler von Matthew Hardie. Er begann schon als achtjähriger Knabe Geigen zu machen. Er baute nach einem kleinen Stradivari- Modell und verwendete einen selbstbereiteten ÖÖllack in verschiedenen Farben. Er machte durchschnittlich zwei Geigen im Monat fertig und war ein vorzüglicher Geiger.

He is the son of the preceding John Anderson, and was born December 25, 1856, at Aberdeen. He has made a large number of violins on a modified Strad model. They are fairly well made, and suitable for orchestral purposes. The only instrument of his make seen by me was varnished in golden red, unpolished, with rather weak sound-holes, and somewhat ungainly corners.
