Er war lange Zeit Gehilfe von Clement. Um 1830 machte er sich selbstständig und verband sich mit Calot. Sie hatten ihr Geschäft in der Rue St. Eustache No. 12 und bauten viele Instrumente, die weder besonders zu loben noch zu tadeln sind. Französischer Stil, rother und rothbrauner Lack.

Worked under Clement in Paris. In 1830 he started a business with Calot. He made good violins with varnish red or yellow-brown colour.
