John Dilworth
BAKER, William Worked 1671-1683 Oxford UK. Significant early English maker, known for a group of violins, violas, and at least one cello which are still extant. One viola was kept at the Oxford Music School up until the early 20th century. Viols also recorded in early accounts. Brescian influenced work, similar to that of Urquhart. Small viola double purfled, with very full arch. Violins single purfled.
