BARBIERI, Armando Born 1893 Asti, died 1963 Forli Italy. Active in Forli from 1924. Sculptor, artist and poet. Made all members of the violin family, including double basses, to a good standard. Classical models and Antoniazzi-style work. Dark red-brown varnish, quite thick and brittle texture. Scroll well-balanced and concentric. [Nicolini]
